Final Post

So this is to be our final post! as most people know we are now back in Australia!
We had a really easy flight back, with a 7 hour stopover in Doha. This was actually really nice as we got to walk around, do our duty free shopping and stretch before out longer flight. We flew with Qatar, who are a great airline, the food was good and seats comfy with enough legroom. definitely flying with them more from now on.

Nics up in QLD visiting Family and Bec is setting up our house in Vic.

So in summary we have visited 30 countries this year over only 8 months.  We thought we would give you our top 5 for each of us to help with any plans anyone else might have.

So without further ado:

Nics top 5:
1. Finland
2. Norway
3. Switzerland
4. Macedonia
5. Netherlands

Becs top 5:
1. Slovakia
2.Finland
3.Switzerland
4.Romania
5. Scotland

and for a bonus. if we were to move to Europe, our top countries to live in would be Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Netherlands or Finland...so many great options!

So thats that... we are back and now moving on to our next stages of life.

We both had a fantastic year and wish it could have lasted forever! we didn't even get to half of the continent though so there will definitely be more trips back in the near future!

Becola out for the last time

Switzerland- Lugano

For our last photo blog, we have some beautiful sights of Lugano Switzerland, where we spent a few days enjoying the serenity before flying home to Melbourne.

The view of the lake is just beautiful!

Strolling through the streets, everything is just picture perfect here

Strolling through the Christmas stalls. On our first night here we went out for drinks and pizza in front of this massive Christmas tree.

something a little different, no ice skating here but a small slope to teach kids to ski

Inside a gorgeous little shop that we stopped at with Cindy for hot chocolate and cake after a day of exploring Lugano and the Christmas markets, We had the delicious denso hot chocolate (so thick, its life hot mouse and you can eat it with a spoon...absolutely delicious) the cakes and chocolates were also to die for :)

On another day, we further explored Lugano with Nic Uncle Andrew while Cindy was at work. We took a stroll through a park to get some beautiful views of the lake and the city

Winter trees and chess along the shoreline

two different tourist buses, old school choo choo and sleek new train.

We took an hour boat trip on the lake, which turned out to be freezing! the sun was nice though and lessened the pain a little, but the views from the boat made up the rest.

Back on dry land

While we were in Switzerland we took Andrew and Cindy to their first ever hockey match! The atmosphere was unbelievable! and we had so much fun. There were about 5000 people there, which is a little more than we get at the games at home! so much cheering and excitement, and the local team Lugano beat out Bern

we had an amazing time!

even Andrew and Cindy seemed to enjoy themselves

Hanging out at home

So that was our last stop! after our time in Lugano, we headed back to Zurich for a night, before we caught our morning flight to Melbourne via Doha.
