Croatia- Dubrovnik

For our last stop in Coratia we headed to Dubrovnik for a great week of sun, relaxation and exploration.  We rented an apartment about 15 mins walk away from the old town which turned out to be the perfect place to relax and enjoy the city! these were our views from the terrace, complete with outdoor area and lounge chairs :)  we got much reading done in these chairs.

The Dubrovnik old town is full of small ally ways and oh so many stairs. we did a lot of wandering around this beautiful old town but didn't really go in very much as it was just so nice outside we didn't feel the need to go inside. It is naturally one of the most touristy places in Croatia, luckily we are now out of the season so there were not so many tourist (apparently in the summer season they often have to have traffic lights at the entrances to the city to control the flow of people going in!)

The awesome streets in the old town.

Whilst having a drink at a great bar on the outer side of the walls, we amused ourselves by watching some crazy guys jump from the rocks

A Beautiful place to have a drink and watch the world go by

Laura's Boat!

And the Yellow Submarine :)

We took the obligitory walk around the Old Town walls. this is definately a top thing to do in the cuty. you get a great 360 degree view of the entire town and some great views of both the town and the sea.

Some beautiful scenes as we walk around the sea walls

We took another trip on the city cable car to the top of the mount Srd overlooking Dubrovnik we took some time to admire the beautiful scenery and then took a walk back to the bottom

We have had a wonderful time in Croatia and highly recommend anyone who is interested in travel to visit! we will definitely be back again in the future.

We have now made it to  Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina where we will spend a few days before heading to the capital of Sarajevo.

For now, Becola signing off from Croatia!

  1. awesome! it looks so beautiful, wonderful decision to include this part of the world. You didn't fancy jumping after a few pina colada's? or whatever the choice drink is in Croatia? no? also good decision!
I haven't left a comment for ages but I think of you both often and smile, knowing you are having great experiences together that will stay with you forever. It's Opa's 80th birthday on 24th Oct, big party and I am collecting photos for a slideshow...I don't suppose you have any of him you can access but if you do, please send me one or two of your favourite Opa photos and I will include, otherwise we will ensure there are some of you guys with him or from your childhood that we think you will like :)
    Enjoy! Love Tunnie x x x

    1. Hey Tunnie! we are having a great time, thanks :) I was all up for having a dip (also in Mostar) but Nic didn't think it was such a great plan :) Croatia was stunning and we are loving eastern Europe so much, and prefer a lot of it to the touristy west :)

we are both sad to miss Opas birthday! Unfortunately I don't have any pics here, I know I have some on a hard drive at home but I cant remember where I packed it. I may have left it around somewhere at home. you may be able to ask mum if she has seen it, otherwise I'm sure you will collect heaps of photos. Be sure to take a few of the night too and send them over to us.

Hope you and the girls are all well. we heard from Mum that you just bought a house :) we are really excited for you and happy that you will be in Melb when we get back :)
      xxx Bec and Nic
