Belfast is like a quieter version of Melbourne with all seasons in one day but worse. The first day we were out and about it was bright and sunny and then 30 minutes later there was a hail storm and gale force winds. While huddling under shelter waiting for the hail to stop we wondered if we should have put more layers on. But another 30 minutes later and the storm had passed and the sun was shining again. Belfast is still recovering from the religious war that stopped 20 years ago, it had been going for generations the tourism is starting to pick up. A city worth visiting with a relaxed Melbourne vibe to it.
This clock tower has a greater lean then the leaning tower of Pisa. They fixed the structure of this clock tower but decided to leave the lean in it.

| The Titanic experience- I wasn't looking forward to this much, infact we hadn't actually planned to go there at all afraid of endless references to ones heart going on.. but we stumbled across it so we gave it a go and were really happy we did. It was opened in 2012 on the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It was by far one of the best museums/experiences we have been through, and so massive you need a lot of time to get through it all. .you walk through the building of the Titanic and other ships made by the company, then travel through and experience what it would have been like onboard ad well as a detailed account of actions on the fateful night. Finally you are able to see the ship as it sits now on the ocean floor and look at all of the findings and research done inyo locating it and studying its location. we should also mention an amazing ride that you go on in the center. We wont say much but it is pretty cool and defiantly worth a visit. |
