we are not a fan of the stout itself but they make an amazing lager called Hop House 13 which we thoroughly enjoyed on this tour :) The brewhouse and tour itself is self guided and quite visually stunning. it is about 8 stories high and the inside is shaped into a giant Guinness glass, holding over 8 million pints of Guinness if it were ever to be filled.
Some Deer we found in Phoenix Park. We spen the afternoon riding around the largest park in the UK. we rode for 3 hours and dint even get close to covering all of the trails. If you are ever in the area, there is a great little bike shop at the entrance, there are so many tracks to choose from with monuments and palaces. it is definitely not walkable so we suggest the bikes :) (we were too busy riding to take many pictures)
We weren't able to take photos inside, however we went on a tour underneath there there are several mummified remains underneath the church itself. Something about conditions of the crypts has allowed the bodies to be naturally mummified without intention. Scientists are still researching what has allowed this, the mystery continues. Inside we were allowed to shake the hand of 'the cursader'- one of the mummified remains which legend has it gives anyone who shakes his hands good luck- we had a great day after this :)
One of the first places in Dublin we headed to. Has an amazing library housing the book of Kells and 1000's of other titles
Howth- Small fishing village just outside of Dublin.
A beautiful little town where we spent an afternoon. The have the freshet fish in Dublin and you can literally see them take it off the boat and give it to the restaurant who then serve it immediately. Nic really enjoyed this. We walked along the pier, which whilst it looks pretty and sunny, was soo cold and windy, we put all of our layers on and were so grateful we had taken our ran jackets/windbreaks.
TRY THE CHOCOLATE - a must if anyone ever goes to Ireland, they use clotted cream instead of milk. It tastes much different to ours with a creamier texture, it tastes AMAZING!!!!
